What information we collect, use, and why
We collect or use the following information for service updates or marketing purposes:
- Names and contact details
- Marketing preferences
On our ticket pages
These pages (go.crosstownconcerts.com) show the dates for our tours and link to the official ticket sellers. Tickets are bought from those sellers, whose own privacy policies apply when you buy.
Signing up for news
If you sign up on a ticket page, we keep your email address, first name, the tour and the show you picked, and when you signed up. We use them to email you about that artist and other gigs near you. Your details are held in our fan mailing system, Audience Republic, which works for us and doesn’t use them for anything else. You can unsubscribe from any email, or ask us to delete your details. Sign-up is for people aged 13 and over.
Sharing with the artist
When you sign up there’s a second, optional box to share your details with the artist’s team. If you tick it, after the tour we send your email address, first name and the show you picked to whoever the artist asks us to send them to, usually their management or record label. They use your details under their own privacy policy, and you can unsubscribe from their emails at any time. If you don’t tick the box, we don’t share your details with the artist.
Cookies and advertising
We ask before using cookies. If you say yes, we use the Meta Pixel, run by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show you relevant gigs. Meta receives which of our ticket pages you looked at, whether you clicked through to buy tickets, and whether you signed up. Meta uses this under its own privacy policy, and may combine it with what it knows about you from Facebook and Instagram.
If you say no, nothing is sent to Meta. Your answer is remembered in your browser. You can change it any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any ticket page: .
Listening on Spotify
Some ticket pages have a “Listen” button. Spotify’s player only loads when you tap it. Spotify then sets its own cookies and uses what you play under its own privacy policy. If you’ve said yes to cookies, we also tell Meta that you tapped it, so we can show you ads for that artist’s gigs.
Counting visits
We count how many people open each page and click each ticket button, and which link or ad brought them here. These are totals only: no cookies, and nothing that identifies you.
Lawful bases and data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, we must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using your personal information. There is a list of possible lawful bases in the UK GDPR. You can find out more about lawful bases on the ICO’s website.
Which lawful basis we rely on may affect your data protection rights, which are set out in brief below. You can find out more about your data protection rights and the exemptions which may apply on the ICO’s website:
- Your right of access. You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. You can request other information such as details about where we get personal information from and who we share personal information with. There are some exemptions which means you may not receive all the information you ask for.
- Your right to rectification. You have the right to ask us to correct or delete personal information you think is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Your right to erasure. You have the right to ask us to delete your personal information.
- Your right to restriction of processing. You have the right to ask us to limit how we can use your personal information.
- Your right to object to processing. You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data. You can always stop marketing emails, by unsubscribing or emailing us.
- Your right to data portability. You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you.
- Your right to withdraw consent. When we use consent as our lawful basis you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
If you make a request, we must respond to you without undue delay and in any event within one month. To make a data protection rights request, please contact us using the contact details at the top of this privacy notice.
Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data
Our lawful basis for collecting or using personal information for service updates or marketing purposes, for sharing your details with an artist’s team, and for advertising cookies, is:
Consent. We have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
Who we share it with
With the artist’s team, only if you tick the box (see “Sharing with the artist” above). With Meta, only if you say yes to cookies. We also use companies that store and process information for us and only on our instructions: Audience Republic, our fan mailing system, and Vercel, which hosts these pages. Some of them may store information outside the UK; when they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK’s approved data transfer contracts. We never sell your details.
Where we get personal information from
Directly from you.
How long we keep information
We store personal information for as long as the business needs it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
How to complain
If you have any concerns about our use of your personal data, you can make a complaint to us using the contact details at the top of this privacy notice.
If you remain unhappy with how we’ve used your data after raising a complaint with us, you can also complain to the ICO.
